Shawn Spears embracing the dark side When he participated in the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing, Shawn Spears looked different than he did in WWE but still maintained “the Perfect Ten” gimmick. He initially debuted on the Road to Double or Nothing when he was showcased pulling his entrance card from the deck. But things took a turn down a much different path at Fyter Fest. After Cody’s match with Darby Allin went to a time-limit draw, Spears appeared in the ring with a chair in hand....

In case you didn’t know… Cody Rhodes took on Darby Allin at AEW Fyter Fest. The match was full of intrigue and had some amazing spots. It was more a showcase for Darby Allin as he took some brutal bumps during the match. After the match was fought to a draw, Shawn Spears came out to the ring and smashed Cody Rhodes’s head with a steel chair. Cody Rhodes immediately dropped to the mat and proceeded to bleed profusely....

According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, AEW Owner Tony Khan is looking to move his company to a warmer location in Miami, Florida for February due to wrestling’s sub-freezing temperatures in an outdoor venue in Jacksonville right now. Cassidy also noted that “a change of scenery would be good for everyone’s morale.” It’s something completely understandable after the talent has been wrestling in the same place for eight months straight....

In case you didn’t know… During the rally several announcements were made; Pac, Chris Jericho, MJF, Joey Janela, Penelope Ford Britt Baker and SCU had all signed, there would be equal pay between men and women, ‘Double or Nothing’ would be at Las Vegas and finally there’s the partnership with OWE. OWE are a Chinese based wrestling promotion started by CIMA, an independent wrestler who was most recently seen during PWG’s ‘Battle of Los Angeles’ tournament where he was a standout performer....

What is the significance of AEW on TNT? It has been 18 years since professional wrestling has been on the TNT network. TNT was the home of WCW Monday Nitro, until WCW closed its door in 2001. Since then, fans have clamored for the return of a large professional wrestling organization which had the backing of a billionaire like Ted Turner. AEW found their answer in Tony Khan. With the recent hire of Tony Schiavone, who was the voice of WCW Monday Nitro and a broadcast team that includes the likes of Jim Ross, Alex Marvez, Chris Van Vliet, Alicia Atout and Excalibur, it should make for interesting television....

The AFC Asian Cup qualification procedure is designed in such a way that, at times, it looks farce. Back in March 2015, a total of 46 teams had started the journey to get into the 24-team tournament to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) four years later. After a whopping 182 matches, which saw teams flying across the length and the breadth of world’s largest continent, only 10 teams have been eliminated from the race, including Kuwait and Indonesia who have been suspended and Guam, who have withdrawn due to financial constraints....

Though Syrian outfit Al Jaish’s perfect start to the campaign was brought to an end by Al Zawra’a themselves in the reverse fixture, they still have a point more than their opponents. The Iraqi side was able to win at home but they have to repeat it away in order to take the pole position in the group which will go a long way in securing automatic progress to the next stage....

GROUP F: Boeung Ket (CAM) v Ceres Negros (PHI): Cambodia’s Boeung Ket are at home to Ceres Negros on Matchday five in the ASEAN Zone Group F. The Cambodians desperately need a win to stay alive in the competition.
