The latest episode of AEW Dynamite took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and while the segment didn’t air on TV, fan footage of the event shows president and CEO Tony Khan revealing the title of the AEW video game. Unless there’s been a misunderstanding of some kind, it’s looking like the AEW video game will officially be called AEW: Fight Forever, a reference to a popular chant that the crowd does during high-quality wrestling matches that they don’t want to see end.

The reason why Tony Khan seemingly revealed the AEW video game title is because the Pittsburgh crowd was asked to help record audio for the game. The crowd was reportedly asked to perform various chants to be recorded and used in the game, whenever it’s released.
As it stands, the AEW video game still does not have an official release date. However, reputable wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp has reported that the AEW video game release window could be as early as September of this year. If accurate, then fans should expect to see more of the long-awaited AEW video game sooner rather than later.
Very little has been shown of the AEW video game so far. It was first revealed with a brief trailer that showcased the art style and featured the likes of Chris Jericho, Hikaru Shida, and Kenny Omega. Later on, new footage of the AEW video game showcased some in-ring action between rising stars Darby Allin and Jungle Boy. Otherwise, the AEW video game has been quiet.
Whenever the AEW video game gets its proper reveal, it will be interesting to see how it stacks up to the competition. By Kenny Omega’s own admission, the AEW game can’t compete with WWE’s production values, but it could very well provide a kind of gameplay experience that wrestling fans haven’t had for quite some time. With the WWF No Mercy director involved with the game, there’s a lot in favor of AEW: Fight Forever to be a breakout hit, but fans will have to wait and see how it turns out.
