It was confirmed that Guevara and Pamella broke up in October, amidst rumors that he was dating fellow AEW star Tay Conti. Guevara and Conti didn’t confirm their relationship status at that time, instead issuing statements asking for privacy as fans began to harass the wrestlers. Fans took to Twitter and other social media platforms to criticize the couple, with some unhappy that Guevara proposed to his girlfriend on television and then was dating someone else mere months later.

While Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti have avoided talking about their relationship status for the most part, the two have now seemingly confirmed that the rumors are indeed true. Guevara posted a New Year’s Eve photo of him and Conti kissing with the caption “2022 is going to be fun!” It’s possible that Guevara and Conti are trolling fans, but this does appear to be a confirmation that the two are dating.
Based on the replies to the tweet, it seems many AEW fans are still unhappy about the Guevara and Conti relationship. While it could be said that whether or not two people are dating is no one’s business, it seems fans feel invested because of how Guevara publicly proposed to Pamella. Many of the replies to the tweets are fans mocking Guevara and Conti, with some going as far as to accuse Guevara of cheating on Pamella, though there’s no proof that there was any overlap with the relationships.
This isn’t the first time that real-world wrestling relationships have caused drama, with one of the most infamous examples being the Edge and Lita relationship. As some may recall, Lita was in a long-term relationship with Matt Hardy, but wound up cheating on him with Edge. The real-world situation was turned into a storyline on WWE TV, though it remains to be seen if Conti and Guevara will become an on-screen couple or not.
The two aren’t really seen together on current AEW television, with Conti embroiled in a feud with Penelope Ford and The Bunny, and Guevara recently dropping the TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes. It’s possible that their relationship will be featured on AEW television at some point, but fans will just have to wait and see.
